Organization Information: The Florida Swimming Pool Association is a trade association for the swimming pool industry with 700+ member companies in 14 active chapters. FSPA provides educational courses for industry professionals, produces an annual industry trade show, and acts as the consumer resource for finding professionals in the swimming pool industry. The association provides government relations representation on behalf of its members to the Florida Building Commission and the Construction Industry Licensing Board as well as other legislative bodies that regulate the swimming pool industry in Florida such as the Department of Health and local building departments.
Job Summary: FSPA is seeking a professional to generate revenue through new membership, advertising and sponsorship sales. This position views all activities of FSPA through a holistic perspective and represents them to current and prospective members from an overall engagement standpoint. This role requires coordinating membership maintenance and retention with the team, while pursuing new revenue growth.
This position will work with the Executive Director to strategize for membership development, identify prospects, create budgets, communicate goals, interact with the Board of Directors and Chapters, provide progress reports and grow membership, advertising and sponsorship revenue. They will view membership interests from a comprehensive approach that benefit the member and the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to members
Generate all reporting of membership status to appropriate parties; maintain mailing lists
Maintain a list of prospective FSPA members and assist with recruitment of potential members by entering new prospect profiles from various resources into database
Reach revenue goals on new membership, sponsorships and advertising with each budget cycle
Manage membership onboarding program
Manage volunteer FSPA Ambassador Program
Assist members in utilizing benefits
Assist in identifying and developing new member programs and services
Oversee trade show attendee registration system reconciliation with member database
Attend association and association chapter member meetings, events and programs as required
Maintain knowledge of FSPA goals, government relations objectives, services and benefits, education and tradeshow events provided by the organization
Collaborate with team on retention planning and membership benefits administration
Handle appropriate administrative duties for the department to include following up with communications to members, including generating and sending individual invoices as needed
Manage and provide guidance to membership administrative support staff
Manage and collaborate with Membership Committee that is comprised of Board of Directors members
Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Four years of experience in sales or business development
Two years of experience with a 501c6 membership association or other nonprofit category
Ability to work independently
Ability to prospect/cold call new businesses
Excellent communications skills with a customer service focus
Ability to work with a team and build relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Experience in a CRM database required, Personify/MemberClicks experience highly desirable
Ability to travel within the state of Florida (average of 20%); with occasional work evenings and weekends
Understand and uphold FSPA’s code of ethics and mission of advancing Florida’s swimming pool industry.
